Virtual products with combinations PrestaShop module

Give a digital product the same flexibility as a standard PrestaShop product. Virtual Combinations keeps native attributes, combinations, stock and price impacts, then attaches one shared downloadable file to every option. It works well for a free software download with a paid service, such as professional installation, offered as another combination.

What Virtual Combinations does

• Use native product combinations: create attributes and combinations in PrestaShop’s product editor. Variant pricing, quantities and stock management stay in the standard product workflow.
• Share one file across all variants: assign a single downloadable file to the product and make it available for every combination. Saving settings without choosing a replacement keeps the current file.
• Accept ZIP downloads: upload a ZIP archive or another supported downloadable file. The module delivers the archive as uploaded; it does not extract it.
• Set download access details: choose the customer-facing filename, access period in days and maximum number of downloads. Customers can retrieve the file from their account after payment.
• Enable virtual delivery: the switch marks the product as virtual and activates its shared download. PrestaShop skips carrier selection when a cart contains only virtual products; physical items in a mixed cart continue through the shop’s normal shipping flow.
• Offer paid services as variants: set a regular combination price impact for installation or another extra service while keeping the same file for every option.
• Manage settings on the product: open the product’s Modules section, select the intended shop, set or replace the file, and enable virtual delivery.
• Keep product data when switching off: turning virtual delivery off disables the download but preserves the combinations and stored file. Uninstalling restores registered products to non-virtual delivery and deactivates their downloads without deleting combinations or files.

Virtual Combinations adds product-level controls while leaving combination generation, attributes, stock and price impacts in PrestaShop’s native product editor. The module is developed for PrestaShop 9.2.

Multistore setup

Configure the product with one shop selected. PrestaShop stores the virtual-product flag across shops, so the module blocks products assigned to more than one shop to avoid changing delivery behavior elsewhere.
